Realignment of Divisions Creates Equitable Distribution of Points

New York, N.Y. – Effective May 16, 2018, the new Schedule of Championship points will go into effect with a realignment of divisions.

See it here: http://akc.org/sports/conformation/resources/points-schedule/

“While computing this year’s Point Schedule, we continued to listen to customer input and feedback and took positive action that will create a more equitable distribution of points,” said Dennis Sprung, President and CEO of The AKC.

The new Point Schedule includes modifications to eight of the fifteen divisions.  “We performed a comprehensive analysis of the level of competition in each state and division.  The modifications reduce the show size variance within divisions,” said Doug Ljungren, Executive Vice-President of Sports and Events.

AKC will continue to monitor the Point Schedule and make future adjustments as necessary.
