PHOTOGRAPHS
If you want our in-house ad designers to produce your ad, it is important that
we receive your photographic image(s) in the correct format and before the
deadline.
If
you send your photo(s) electronically, either from a digital camera or scanned
photograph, they must have a resolution of 300 dpi at the size they will appear
in your ad. Otherwise, they may not be suitable for reproduction due to lack of
quality. The graphic to the right illustrates some example file sizes for
high-resolution images.
If you are unsure about the resolution of your
image(s), consult your photographer or photo processor. If your images are
received and we determine that the resolution is below what is acceptable, we
will contact you before producing your ad.
To help us produce each issue in a timely
manner, please be sure that electronically-submitted photos(s) are at the proper
resolution as stated above, and include in your electronic transfer both the
name of the dog and the name of the owner.
We will also accept your original photo(s) for in-house processing where the
proper resolution and quality can be controlled and assured. We cannot accept
color copies of original photos, as these will not reproduce to your
satisfaction. (Your original photos will be returned to you – see below.)
If you send original photographs to be processed in-house, make sure that the
back of each photo is marked with name and address of the person that the photos
are to be returned to as well as the names of the dog and owner. That way, your
photos will be returned without delay. Also, properly marked photos will ensure
that they are properly placed in your ad, especially when you have more than
one.
AD COPY AND DESIGN
The copy for your ad should be provided in a typed format either in the body of
an email or attached as a text document if sent electronically. (A hard copy
printout will also be accepted). Your copy should include all information, such
as the dog’s registered name, call name, sire and dam, owners, breeders,
handlers, addresses, phone numbers and email, the name of the judge(s) pictured
in the ad and information about your dog’s accomplishments. The size and color
of your ad should also accompany your ad copy as well as the name of the
publication it is to run in. Any special instructions concerning the look or
style of your ad should also be included if desired.
STATISTICAL REFERENCES
Ranking information must be accompanied by the printed source from which it was
taken and the date through which that ranking is current. For example, if your
dog is the #1 ranked Irish Setter according to the AKC statistics through
December 31, 2004, you must send this source and date along with your ad copy.
It will be referenced at the bottom of your ad.
SPECIAL FEATURES
If you are sending an ad to be included in one of our special features (),
please make a note on your ad material. We want to make sure you receive the
discounted ad rates for all these special features and that your ad is properly
placed.
ADVERTISERS’ COPIES
Please include your address and contact information (phone and/or email) with
your ad, so that we will have accurate and current information for your account,
and also so that you receive your free advertiser’s copy.
