The Wire Fox Terrier is a breed of dog known for its distinctive rough, wiry coat and spirited personality. Originating in England, this breed was historically used for fox bolting and hunting due to its keen sense of smell and agility. Typically standing around 15.5 inches tall at the shoulder and weighing about 18 pounds, Wire Fox Terriers possess a striking appearance with a predominantly white coat, often marked with black or brown. These terriers are recognized for their intelligent, alert, and friendly nature, making them excellent companions. However, they are also known for being quite independent and require consistent training and socialization. Their high energy levels and tendency for playful mischief make them a delightful, albeit sometimes challenging, addition to active households.
The best way to ensure a long and happy relationship with a purebred dog is to purchase one from a responsible breeder. Not sure where to begin?
